Cancellation and Refund Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-draft-1
All payments on Chal Buddy go through our payment partner, Razorpay. When you send a booking request you pay the companion's price plus the booking fee. The money is held and paid to the companion only after the meetup has ended and 24 hours have passed without a dispute.
Who cancels, and when
| Situation | Customer refund | Companion receives |
|---|---|---|
| Companion declines, or the request expires | 100%, including the booking fee, automatically | Nothing |
| Customer cancels more than 24 hours before the start | The companion's price (the booking fee is kept) | Nothing |
| Customer cancels 2 to 24 hours before the start | 50% of the companion's price | 50% of the companion's price, minus commission |
| Customer cancels less than 2 hours before the start, or does not check in (no-show) | Nothing | The full companion's price, minus commission |
| Companion cancels at any time, or does not check in | 100%, including the booking fee | Nothing, and the companion receives one strike |
| Either side cancels for a safety reason confirmed by our team | 100% | No penalty for either side |
- A request expires 30 minutes after it is sent, or 1 hour before the start time, whichever comes first, if the companion has not accepted it.
- A no-show is when a person has not checked in through the app within 30 minutes of the start time.
- Three companion strikes within 90 days pause the companion's account for review.
Disputes
If something went wrong, report it in the app within 24 hours of checking out. The companion's payout stays on hold while our team looks into it. We may then refund you in full, refund part of the price, or release the payout to the companion. We tell both of you the decision and the reason.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method through Razorpay, usually within 5 to 7 working days of the refund being issued. The booking fee includes GST; where it is refunded, the GST is refunded with it.
